San Pedro Co-Op follows achild-centered philosophy of early childhood education. Under the
guidance of the Director, we provide a diverse curriculum that focuses on yourchild's needs, abilities and interests. We offer a play-based
developmentally appropriate curriculum that includes:

- On-site garden

- Tools and toys for small motor
development

Through their play, children
come to see themselves as explorers, discoverers, problem solvers, and
inventors.
We
also recognize the norms of our society and the need for certain academic
exposure prior to kindergarten. As part of our program, the
pre-kindergarten class will have exposure to the letters of the alphabet both
upper and lower case; their own first and last name; the numbers 1 - 20; and
the Pledge of Allegiance. The younger class will have exposure to shapes
and colors with emphasis on first name recognition during the 2nd half of the
year.
